David Tennant and Hayley Atwell, Nathalie Baye and Jérémie Renier, Nicholas Pinnock, Carmen Machi, and Inma Cuesta are part of the distribution of the Criminal series that is produced by Netflix with teams from four European countries.
The series will have 12 episodes of 45 minutes.
Three episodes form a set for a country – France, Spain, Germany and the UK.
The action takes place exclusively within a police station, focusing on the mental conflict between the interrogator and the suspect.
For France, Margot Bancilhon, Laurent Lucas, Stéphane Jobert, Anne Azoulay and Mhamed Arezki will play alongside Nathalie Baye, Jérémie Renier, and Sara Giraudeau.
Eva Meckbach, Sylvester Groth, Florence Kasumba, Christian Kuchenbuch, and Jonathan Berlin will play in the German episodes with Peter Kurth, Christian Berkel, Deniz Arora, and Nina Hoss.
Jorge Bosch, José Ángel Egido, Nuria Mencía, Daniel Chamorro, María Morales, Javi Coll and Milo Taboada will play in the Spanish episodes alongside Carmen Machi, Inma Cuesta, Eduard Fernández, Emma Suárez and Álvaro Cervantes.
Nicholas Pinnock, Katherine Kelly Lee Ingleby, Mark Stanley, Rochenda Sandall, and Shubham Saraf will star in the British episodes with Tennant and Atwell, Youssef Kerkour and Clare-Hope Ashitey.
The series is created by George Kay, who signed the “Killing Eve” script, and Jim Field Smith, producer of “Wrong Mans” and director of “She’s Out Of My League.”
Each episode will be produced in the local language, written and directed by local filmmakers.
Kay and Smith will write the version script for the UK.
For France will write Frederic Mermoud, Antonin Martin-Hilbert, and Mathieu Missoffe; for Germany, Oliver Hirschbiegel, Bernd Lange and Sebastian Heeg; and for Spain, Mariano Barroso, Alejandro Hernández and Manuel Martín Cuenca.
All 12 episodes will be filmed in the production hub of Netflix in Madrid, Ciudad de la Tele. The series will be released this autumn.
