After Dumbo, Aladdin and The Lion King (which will be released on July 19), Disney continues the string of live action with Snow White. Production is already on the rise, and it will occupy popular names in the industry, says Variety.

At the helm will be the director of The Amazing Spider-Man, Mark Webb (the filmmaker is still in negotiations with the studio). The script would be Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train), which will expand the story and the musical part. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land) will write the new songs of the film.

The classic snowmobile story of the Grimm Brothers became the first Disney animated feature of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937. It was the biggest success of that year, with over $ 8 million in cash. The production brought Walt Disney in 1939 an unprecedented honorary Oscar (one full trophy and seven other miniatures), in recognition of the new and innovative direction opened in the animated movie.

Over the years, there have been many screenings of the story, the most recent being Mirror Mirror, 2012 (with Lily Collins, Armie Hammer, and Julia Roberts), and a slightly more modest adaptation, Snow White and the Huntsman, of the same year (with Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron).
