Amazon and Paramount Television are working on developing a TV adaptation of the 1997 SF Horror Event Horizon, writes Variety. Adam Wingard is the executive producer and director of the upcoming series. Wingard signed the director of the future Godzilla vs. Kong, with the premiere on our big screens in the spring of 2020.
Event Horizon was directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and he had a script signed by Philip Eisner. The title referred to a missing research spacecraft during an attempt to recreate a black hole and then reappeared suddenly. The ship had a special transport mechanism, whose particularity was the possibility of creating a black hole through which it passed and traveled distances unimaginable in just a few seconds. However, a mission beyond Neptune causes the ship to mysteriously disappear.
After 7 years of disappearance, Event Horizon reappears and sends signals. A rescue team led by Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne) leaves to retrieve Event Horizon. When I find the ship, they all start looking for survivors, but what they find is a living nightmare. On the ship was born a form of pure evil …
