Scheduled for launch in the second half of May, the Furious and Fast 9 megablockbuster is postponing its premiere on April 2, 2021. It is the most significant postponement caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The team representatives sent a message a few hours ago to the fans on the social networks.
Addressed to “our Fast family of fans around the world”, the message is as follows: “We know very well how much you love us and how much you look forward to the next chapter in our series. That is why it is extremely difficult for us to announce that we will have to move the release date. It has become very clear recently that it will not be possible for our fans around the world to watch the movie in May. We are moving the global premiere of the film in April 2021, with the US premiere due to take place on April 2. We are aware that you are all disappointed, that you will have to wait a little longer, but we make the change for one reason of extraordinary importance: the safety of all. (…) See you next spring. ”
Angry and Fast 9 is the second megablockbuster to launch, the first being No Time to Die, delayed six months for a premiere in November 2020. And the much-awaited horror A Quiet Place: Part II, whose premiere should have taken place even next week, was postponed for a time to be announced soon.
