Fox adds the 9-1-1 spin-off: Lone Star

When I thought Fox finished his 2019/20 titles list and was preparing for the first official day of UpFronts, nowhere, the station representatives announced a spin-off for Ryan Murphy's 9-1-1, 9- 1-1: Lone Star.

The new project, which has already received an episode order, will have protagonist Rob Lowe, the actor returning to the platters of the new fusion brand Fox/Disney.

The 9-1-1 spin-off project is not a surprise, with the title ensemble being the # 1 storyline and one of the most popular as well as critically acclaimed.

The new project will start in the 2019/2020 season, most likely in January, following the first launch of the 9-1-1. Currently, Fox has 11 new series – three animations (Duncanville, Bless the Harts, The Great North), Outmatched comedy, BH90210 revival, dramatic 9-1-1: Lone Star, Deputy, Filthy Rich, next, Prodigal Son and the Untitled Katmis / Weisman Project.

Universe 9-1-1 expands from Los Angeles to Texas, 9-1-1: Lone Star, like the parent title, telling the story of a sophisticated New York cop who moves with his son in Austin, striking a balance between life from the field and the personal one continues to be one of the main themes.

Michael Torn said:

“The beauty of having a hit drama like 9-1-1 from the genius minds of Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear is it allows you to explore thrilling stories as told through an array of distinctive characters. In 9-1-1: LONE STAR, they’ve given us a special opportunity to expand the franchise into new territory – literally and figuratively — and we’re thrilled to have the incomparable Rob Lowe headline this new iteration when it joins our schedule next season.”
