The last season of Game of Thrones promises a spectacular, glamorous, spectacular visual show so far. But the shootings of the six episodes as six films were extremely difficult for the actors; many of them talked about the eight season shootings as the most brutal experience they’ve ever experienced. Kit Harington said not long ago: “Everyone was finished at the end. I do not know if I was crying because I was sad it was over, or I was crying because it was so exhausting.”
All these difficult moments, as well as many other aspects of last season’s production, will be included in HBO’s two-hour documentary, EntertainmentWeekly.com writes. Production will be released one week after the final episode on May 19, and will be directed by Jeanie Finlay, a multi-screen documentary filmmaker.
HBO has described the documentary as “a close, personal story from production sessions, which tracks actors and the production team as they struggle to cope with extreme temperatures, criminal deadlines, and a cohort of fans always eager to find spoilers.”
