The news of Avengers’ huge box office success: Endgame does not seem to feel good about James Cameron. The film has recently surpassed Titanic’s global revenues – nearly $2.2 billion, has now ranked second in the highest-grossing record in history.
The film is now about to surpass Avatar’s record (2.7 billion dollars internationally), which does not really enjoy Cameron, who thinks there are other fantastic stories to tell besides superheroes. The film also criticized Patty Jenkins’s “Wonder Woman,” which he called “a step backwards” for such films, especially those in which a superhero appears. Now his target is Marvel.
“I hope people get bored soon with movies like The Avengers. Not that I would not like movies, but say things by name: there are other stories besides those with muscular, familyless men who defy death for two hours and dust cities in the meantime, “Cameron said in – an interview for Indiewire.com.
A new Avatar movie will end up in cinemas on December 18, 2020. Avatar 3 will be released on December 17, 2021, followed by Avatar 4 on December 20, 2024, and Avatar 5 on Dec. 19, 2025.
