The series is described as a drama that explores the American dream through the eyes of a police chief (Daniels) in a city in Pennsylvania. When the woman he loves sees his son accused of murder, he is forced to decide what he can do to defend himself.
Dan Futterman will write the script for several episodes and will executive produce alongside Daniels. The two also collaborated on the miniseries “The Looming Tower” (Hulu), which received four Emmy awards last year, including one for Daniels, in the “best actor in a miniseries” category.
Executive producers will also be Michael De Luca and Elisa Ellis of Platform One Media, which produces the show with Showtime.
Futterman was nominated for an Oscar for “Capote” and “Foxcatcher”. He also wrote “Gracepoint” and “In Treatment” and starred in “The Birdcage” and “Judging Amy” and “Will & Grace”.
