The central character of the popular Sonic the Hedgehog video game, under the aegis of Paramount Pictures, received his first live action movie (actually a hybrid because it includes animation).
If four weeks ago the first poster of the film was released, which gave details of the protagonist’s appearance (the blue anthropomorphic hedgehog that can reach supersonic speeds has strong legs here and a fur that shapes a spiked hairstyle) we now have the first picture of his nemesis, Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik, played by Jim Carrey, first posted on the Twitter SEGAbits account and taken over by ScreenRant.com.
The image of the antagonist has been simplified. The rosette silhouette and the oversized and orange mustache were dropped from the games, animations, and comic stripes in which it appears. The villain now has a more modern look, but his looks will still support some changes in the movie.
Sonic’s role is actor Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreations, House of Lies). James Marsden and Neal McDonough are also part of the cast.
