After the fantastic success with the last two Marvel movies in the Avengers saga – movies he directed alongside his brother, Anthony – Joe Russo began work on Cherry, a drama in which even one of Marvel stars, the actor Tom Holland. But one of the wishes of the filmmaker is to be able to direct a Batman movie, because he is the superhero who enjoyed his childhood, he revealed in an interview with ComicBook.com.

“If we’re talking about the figurines I was collecting when I was little, let’s know it was Batman. He was one of the DC characters, yeah. We collected such figurines. So I’m going to choose a Batman movie in the future, “the director said.

For now, Batman’s future cinematography is not very clear. After Ben Affleck gave up his role as a director and director of a new Black Knight film, he was named in the directorial seat of Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Planet of the Apes), but it is not even now known who will dress the superero costume. The release date of the film was repeatedly postponed, and now it remains fixed for 2021. Some sources close to production claim that the scenario is now reworked, and filming will not start earlier than 2020.

The Russo Brothers still have a movie with a former Avenger in the program – this time only as producers. It’s about 21 Bridges, with Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther).
