Martel will lead the jurors in their mission to award the Golden Lion Awards for “Best Film,” as well as the Silver Lion trophies – the “Grand Jury Prize” and “Best Director”, but also in the “Best good actor “,” best actress “,” best script “,” special jury prize “,” Marcello Mastroianni “Award for Young Hope.
Lucrecia Martel directed four feature films, “The Swamp”, “The Holy Girl”, “The Headless Woman” and most recently “Zama,” which debuted outside Venice in 2017. Currently, the director works on the first documentary, “Chocobar,” about the human rights activist who was assassinated Javier Chocobar.

As announced, the festival organizers will award awards for the entire career of actress Julie Andrews and director Pedro Almodovar.
The Venice International Film Festival 2019 will take place between August 28 and September 7.
