Michael Bay and the Bay Films production company have signed a contract with Sony Pictures for both movies and TV.

Bay made his directorial debut with the movie Bad Boys (1995) alongside Sony and is now to sign the director of his next action, The Black Five. Details about the action of the thriller, inspired by an original idea, are kept secret, but the sources indicate an action in the center of which is an elite military team. The screenplay is signed by Ehren Kruger (The Ring, plus the small screen adaptation of The Brothers Grimm, by Terry Gilliam).

Bay is the main creator behind the Transformers series, which grossed over $ 1.5 billion at the US box office. Bay recently directed for Netflix the thriller 6 Underground and was a producer for John Krasinski’s thriller A Quiet Place, but also for the Bumblebee spinoff for Paramount.

As for TV projects, Bay is the executive producer of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, in which he plays Krasinski. He is also an executive producer on a horror series inspired by The Purge. Previously, Bay signed the production of the action-drama series The Last Ship and Starz Black Sails, which ran for five seasons each.
