Michael Rooker is set to be the first of the Guardians of the Galaxy to join the series of characters that will appear in the continuation of The Suicide Squad at DC Extended Universe. In production signed by James Gunn, Rooker is in the books for the role of King Shark, writes the Wrap.
Rooker’s distribution did not bring many surprises, considering that he is a good friend of Gunn and has collaborated so far with all his directorial efforts (besides some of the films he has signed).
Rooker in the role of King Shark would join a gallery of characters including Harley Quinn (Margot Robie), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) and Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) alongside Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher, David Dastmalchian in the role of Polka-Dot-Man and Idris Elba (Thor: The Dark World) plus John Cena (Bumblebee) in roles for the time being unclear.
Meanwhile, an unconfirmed rumor still claims that Gunn may have found a negative film hero: GeeksWorldWide says Benicio Del Toro is in talks to play the role of a character described as “an old warrior who lives only for war”.
