Pixar will focus on original productions after the release of Toy Story 4

Disney/Pixar Studios have put more emphasis on the success of successful productions (such as The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Toy Story) over the last few years, but this is about to change, according to one of Pixar's producers, Mark Nielsen.

He noted in a statement taken by cinemablend.com that this was partly due to the change in the leadership of the company’s creative department – following a charge of sexual harassment, John Lasseter had to cede Pete’s place Docter (writer and director of Up and Inside Out).

“We are very optimistic about the future of the studio,” Nielsen pointed out, and from now on he will focus on novelty and creativity: “Docter is looking for new voices to fuel the next projects to be developed. After that, we will only go to original films, “he said.

Disney has plans to release four Pixar films that will be launched between 2020 and 2022. The first of these will be Onward (placed in a fabulous world where two elves breathe in an “extraordinary adventure” of a rediscovery of magic), launched on 6 March 2020.
