Reese Witherspoon manages another important collaboration, after those with HBO (for which she produces the acclaimed ‘The Big Innocent Lies’) and Apple + (the series ‘The Morning Show’). After negotiations that lasted for some time, the 44-year-old actress reached an agreement with Netflix to make two romantic comedies, in which she will also have the main role.
The Oscar-winning actress for her role in “Walk the Line – The Story of Johnny Cash” said she was waiting for the right opportunity to collaborate with Netflix and is extremely happy to work with the streaming platform for two romantic comedies entitled “Your Place Or Mine ‘and’ The Cactus’, which focuses on ‘strong, intelligent and determined women’.
“Your Place Or Mine” will be directed by the screenwriter of “The Devil Wears Prada”, Aline Brosh McKenna, and tells the story of two friends who live far from each other and whose lives are intertwined, amid major changes.
“The Cactus” is an adaptation of last year’s bestseller of the same name, written by Sarah Haywood, detailing the experiences of a 45-year-old woman who becomes pregnant.
In recent years, the actress from “Blonde from Law” has become a highly sought after producer, after several successes with her production company. It’s the name behind the series “The Big Innocent Lies” (from HBO) and “The Morning Show” (with Jennifer Aniston, from Apple +).
Due to the coronavirus epidemic that has severely affected the entertainment industry, it is not yet known when filming will begin on the two productions.
