Martin Scorsese’s new movie has secured the distribution that the filmmaker had announced he wants from 2017, writes Deadline.com. Robert De Niro is preparing to join the filming of the film in which only Leonardo DiCaprio has been confirmed so far.
Killers of the Flower Moon is an adaptation of the novel by American author and journalist David Grann (full title is Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI). Set in the 1920s in Oklahoma, the film will tell the story of the murder of wealthy members of the Osage County tribes, one of the most sinister conspiracies released by FBI agents.
DiCaprio has collaborated with Scorsese for 17 years and they have worked together on films such as Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island and The Wolf of Wall Street, while the new film will mark De Niro’s 10th collaboration. with the famous director (after Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, New York, New York, Raging Bull, The King of Comedy, GoodFellas, Cape Fear, Casino, and the future The Irishman).
DiCaprio and DeNiro have played together so far, but not in a Scorsese movie (but they did play in a 2015 casino advertisement). The production of Killers of the Flower Moon is set to begin as soon as the filming locations are set, for which the director has moved to Osage County, Oklahoma.
