Robert Pattinson was elected to the central role, writes Variety.com. Sources of the publication mentioned that the actor is in the first place in the preferences of the developers, and the contract is about to be concluded. According to Empire.com, the second version would be Nicholas Hoult (X-Men, The Favorite, Tolkien).
Reeves (who dealt with Dawn of the Planes of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes) went to the directorial chair in January 2017, and as the project underwent changes, Affleck also gave up the role of superhero, not just director, had the freedom to choose the one who would play the new Batman.
The former 32-year-old Twilight star will be the youngest actor to wear the Black Knight suit. To make sure he does not repeat the failure of Justice League and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, the producers have left Reeves as much time to handle the project.
Pattinson has been cast in the role despite the fact that the script is still undergoing changes. Pre-production will begin this summer, and the launch is scheduled for June 25, 2021.
The actor is now preparing for the filming of another Warner Bros. production, Christopher Nolan’s new film, still untitled.
