Apple TV + has released the trailer for the upcoming See series, with Jason Momoa starring, signed by Steven Knight, who worked on the screenplay for the Peaky Blinders series. Jason Momoa (Aquaman, Game of Thrones) suggests that the series would be even better than Game of Thrones. In a post on Instagram, the star says See is “the coolest thing I’ve worked on so far.”
What we already know is that the See series was announced as a high-budget one, each episode costing $ 15 million – close to the production share of the Throne War.
Placed in a “distant future”, the series follows the characters who survived the decimation of the human race by a virus, which left the survivors without sight. Without seeing, people have found new ways to interact, build and hunt, rebuilding a primitive tribal society. For them, the sense of seeing becomes a centuries-old myth. However, the order of their lives is tested when two twins are born with the sense of sight. Instead of honoring them as miracles, the queen of the tribe believes that the power of children is a form of “witchcraft”, wanting to kill them. When the tribe opposes the decision, the war will break out.
Jason Momoa plays the role of Baba Voss, the father of the twins with the sense of sight. Alfre Woodard, who also played in 12 Years a Slave and Annabelle, plays the role of Paris, the spiritual mentor of Baba Voss. The series is one of nine that will appear on the Apple + streaming platform on November 1st.
