Before the release, scheduled for November 8, the movie with Sonic, the central character of Sega’s famous games series, controversy among fans because of his appearance.
The first images in the film directed by Jeff Fowler, published in early March, sparked a lot of negative comments about perfect teeth, much too similar to human teeth, and disproportionate limbs. Paramount Pictures took the critics into consideration and postponed the release of the film to have the time to restore the look of the protagonist.
According to gamesradar.com, one of the movie makers, Tim Miller (Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate) gave assurances in an interview with Variety that Sonic’s image had been adjusted and fans would now be delighted by the way it to miss.
“It’s a franchise, so it’ll have to be great. Look, I was on the side of the fans here, so did Jeff. When things went wrong, we went and said we had to admit the mistake. […] This was the best way to manage the situation. And fans have something to say. And there is a fair way of listening to them, “Miller said.
Sonic the Hedgehog’s new release date is Feb. 14, 2020. Actor Ben Schwartz gives voice to the protagonist. I’m also part of the James Marsden cast, Neal McDonough and Jim Carrey.
