We don’t know when the next Spider-Man movie will appear – the breakup of Sony by Marvel will keep the superhero away from the Avengers, but the studio still wants Tom Holland – but a spin-off has been announced in his universe. According to collider.com, it will be called Madame Web and recently received in the team of directors Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, the writers of Morbius (with Jared Leto – launching on July 20, 2020).
Madame Web, a character created by Jon Romita Jr. (design) and Denny O’Neil (creator of the character and his adventures), debuted in issue 210 of The Amazing Spider-Man cartoon in November 1980.
The character was introduced as Cassandra Web. She is portrayed as an elderly woman, blind, unable to move due to a chronic neuromuscular disease, which made her dependent on a complex mechanism, which resembles a spider’s net. The machinery that keeps her alive has transformed her into a kind of mutant. Her superpowers are clairvoyance, telepathy, precognition and an uncommon intelligence (in the comics, the character has often been a help to Spider-Man).
Madame Web has already appeared in several animated series and video games. It’s similar to Oracle in the Matrix and could be the key to a multiverse that allows Sony to integrate future Spider-Man movies, an expert of Marvel believes.
