Paramount studios confirmed the production of the fourth part of the Star Trek franchise, in which we will revisit in new space adventures the crew of James T. Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Montgomery Scott (Simon Pegg) and Doctor McCoy (Karl Urban).

Problems that caused the company last year to announce that it delayed Star Trek 4 have been resolved. The creator of the Fargo series, Noah Hawley, was announced yesterday at the helm of the movie, but Paramount has not provided details about the script (which Hawley will handle).

The only confirmation was that the story of the sequel will not interfere with that of the Star Trek spin-off developed by Quentin Tarantino (who also collaborates with J.J. Abrams).

The chosen filmmaker, creator, and screenwriter of the beloved Legion and Fargo series made his debut this year in the SF drama film Lucy in the Sky. He has an Emmy award, won in 2014 for the Fargo miniseries.

Star Trek is one of Hollywood’s most highly regarded and successful franchises – each of the series’ movies has garnered over 84 percent on the Rotten Tomatoes movie review aggregator.

The first two films – Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) – were directed by J.J. Abrams, while Star Trek Beyond handled Justin Lin (known for working on another famous franchise – Fast & Furious).
