In an interview, director J.J. Abrams said that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will reveal more details about Finn’s past (played by John Boyega).
“Finn’s origin is part of this story. I insisted on this in the previous film, but now we will find out more, “said the filmmaker.
“I would say that most of all the characters will reveal something about their past. I’m not saying we will get comprehensive information about their childhood and every major step that brought them to where they are now. But there are a lot of questions about Finn’s course, about Poe’s, obviously about Rey and Kylo’s, as well as those of new characters that will be introduced, “he added.
All that is known about Finn so far is that he was entrusted to the First Order when he was young, to train and serve the Empire. His name is not known, nor his family.
