Terminator: Dark Fate could start a new trilogy, says James Cameron

James Cameron mentioned that he has some sequels to Terminator: Dark Fate. The filmmaker, who was one of the producers of the film and had several interventions in the creation of the script (some of the last ones), relies on a trilogy, especially after the positive reactions that and the second trailer of the recently released Dark Fate, them it aroused in the online environment.

“We spent many weeks working on the story and trying to figure out what kind of scenario we want to come up with so that we can approach Linda [Hamilton, n. Red.]. We rolled up our sleeves and started working, and when we realized some things we started to think of everything as a three-part adventure, so the story has something to offer, ‚ÄĚCameron explained.

“If we are fortunate enough to make some money with Dark Fate, we will know exactly in which direction to go with these next films,” he said.

The filmmaker revealed in a previous interview that there was a need for some script changes in the beginning phase of the production, following some comments from Hamilton.

In the movie that will debut on our big screens on November 1st, they will be back, along with Sarah Connor, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Edward Furlong (John Connor). The script follows the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day (released in 1991) and is not related to the action of the next three films in the series (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation and Terminator: Genisys).
