The Friends series will soon move from the Netflix catalog to the HBO Max catalog, but subscribers to the HBO streaming service (to be launched in the spring of 2020) appear to have a surprise: a reunion of actors from the series and of its creators (David Crane and Marta Kauffman).
According to thehollywoodreporter.com, the production is in a preliminary stage and it is not yet known what format will be chosen for it – usually, such meetings bring back years of production, behind-the-scenes happenings, and new star information.
Jennifer Aniston recently provided, in Ellen DeGeneres’ show, the information that she is “working on something”, but that it is not a Friends reboot. However, the fans of the series have long wanted a continuation of the series (since its end in May 2004), but until recently not even a meeting like the one announced for HBO Max was denied by the actors and creators of the series.
Crane and Kauffman said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2014: “People say they want it, and the more we emphasize that it’s an inappropriate idea, the stronger they are. But I think that if we were to offer them [this meeting] it would definitely attract negative reactions ”.
About a month ago, actress Jennifer Aniston made her Instagram debut with a photo featuring former series co-stars – Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry. The image has garnered more than six million followers in less than 24 hours, thus demonstrating the fans’ huge interest in the series and its stars.
