A highlight in the events of the last season of the Game of Thrones series was the Battle of Winterfell. According to Indiwire.com, it should have included another fantastic element: an army of giant wolves.

Episode director Miguel Sapochnik explained (in episode 85 of an Indiwire director’s podcast) that the four-eyed impersonators were supposed to help people in the dramatic creep and even keep the ice dragon, Viserion. The guy did not get too much into the details of this version of the script, which, despite its spectacularity, was not approved.

“There could have been many things that people have applauded, would have enjoyed seeing them. Like this attack of giant wolves and others. But you can not help wondering at one point if, however, such an attack, in which 50 giant wolves jump to a dead dragon, would make the movie better, “he said.

Among the fans’ speculation about this scene was the one where Arya’s wolf, Nymeria, reappears to lead the pack in the attack against Viserion and the forces of the dead.

The pilot episode of a prequel Game of Thrones has recently begun filming, with the release scheduled for the end of 2020 or early 2021.
