NBC continues the series of renewals, following the announcement of returning with new episodes for New Amsterdam and the One Chicago titles in the universe signed by Dick Wolf, in turn comes another veteran title of the station, namely The Blacklist. Impatience for Manifest’s fate continues to persist amongst station viewers, but contrary to rumors, Red and his team will return with new episodes in the 2019/2020 season, with NBC representatives confirming the renewal of the title – the announcement comes as a result of the renegotiation of the distribution contracts, the contract agreements signed initially for six seasons being prolonged for another year.
A true hit for the NBC grid in the debut year, The Blacklist universe was later expanded with a failed spin-off that featured the character played by Ryan Eggold. Gradually forming a community of fans loyal to the title, even in spite of the rating drop caused largely by constantly moving into the grid, The Blacklist continues to be a stable project for NBC, currently recording an average of 7.3 million viewers , acceptable figures for Friday evening.
