The six new episodes continue the story of the divorce between Frances (Parker) and Robert (Church). The cast includes Molly Shannon, Talia Balsam, Tracy Letts, Sterling Jerins and Charlie Kilgore, with Becki Newton included this season.
Parker is an executive producer of the series created and produced by Sharon Horgan.

The first two seasons of the series released in 2016 had ten and eight episodes respectively.
