On the 40th anniversary of the Oscar-winning film “Rocky”, Sylvester Stallone presented to the fans the trailer for the new documentary he made about the phenomenon film.
In the documentary entitled “40 Years of Rocky: The Birth of a Classic”, the actor tells how he worked for the first film of the franchise filmed in 1976 and how it came to be produced. Moreover, videos from the filming that have never been shown before will be revealed.
The actor also revealed in a video posted on Instagram that he is also writing a biography that will recount special moments in his life and career.
“40 Years of Rocky: The Birth of a Classic” is directed by Derek Wayne Johnson, who also wrote and directed the documentary “John G. Avildsen: King of the Underdogs,” about the Oscar-winning director of “Rocky.” Karate Kid ”and“ Lean on Me ”. This is not the first documentary about boxing. In 2011, “The Rocky Saga: Going the Distance” was released on TV.
“It’s a charming snippet in the history of Rocky’s own film, Sylvester Stallone, and it will give the audience an intimate and, at times, emotional experience,” Johnson was quoted as saying by IndieWire.
The film will be released online through the video on the demand distribution system, but the platform chosen by the producers has not been communicated.
