The Amazon streaming platform has officially given the green light to the Jack Reacher project, inspired by Lee Childs’s book about the titular character. Amazon Studios will collaborate with Skydance Television and Paramount Studios for the series, and the production will be signed by Nick Santora, in the project, and as a screenwriter.
“Lee Child has created an incredible character and world; it could be the goal of any writer, producer, actor, director and anyone on the set to capture the essence of Mr. Books. Child – and fortunately Lee has been here and will stay here to help us along the way. He is the soul of Reacher, ”says Santora.
Child added: “It’s been great so far, but in fact, the fun part is starting now. As I know these people, Jack Reacher is in the best hands, believe me ”
Child, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, and Christopher McQuarrie will also be executive producers alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross who will sign the production for Skydance. Carolyn Harris will oversee the Skydance series, Variety writes.
Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series is a global phenomenon that brought the public to one of the heroes who would become extremely popular. “We are looking to expand Jack Reacher universally and bring more action to the Amazon Prime audience,” said platform representatives.
There is no information yet on whether or not Tom Cruise will return in the titular role.
