The next Star Wars movie comes from the creators of Game of Thrones, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss

The Star Wars franchise will continue on the big screens after the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with the creation of screenwriters David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, said Bob Iger, President of Disney, quoted by Variety.com. Its launch was scheduled for 16 December 2020.

Disney has announced since November 2018 a Star Wars trilogy that Rian Johnson has already begun to work on, but the announcement made by Iger puts forward, in the launch calendar, the film for the creators of Game of Thrones (as scriptwriters and producers; the direction has not yet been established).

“We’re already working with the dawn; we were told that three years are enough not only to make a break and to restart but also to prepare for the next film in the series. We have collaborated with David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who are famous for the Game of Thrones, and the next movie we are going to release will be theirs – more than that we will not say about it, “Iger pointed out.

Two other Star Wars films are about to be released in 2024 and 2026 to alternate with the Avatar sequels that will debut on December 17, 2021, and continue until 2027.
