Finally, light on the future of Hargreeves, a new chapter of The Umbrella Academy adventures being in the books. Beyond the rumors of the past week and despite the fact that Netflix did not officially announce the renewal, according to Production Weekly, season 2 filming is scheduled for May-September 2019.Production Weekly’s information has proven to be reliable on other occasions, their program announcing the renewals of Better Call Saul, The Preacher, The Man in the High Castle, Ransom, House of Cards, Altered Carbon and others.
On the same day in 1989, forty-three children were born inexplicably by women without any connection between them, who did not show signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven of them are adopted by a billionaire who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world. Now, the six surviving members are meeting their father’s death and working together to solve the mystery surrounding his death. But the alien family begins to fall apart because of their divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of global apocalypse. The Umbrella Academy is based on Gerard Way’s comic book series, illustrated by Gabriel Bá and published by Dark Horse Comics.
Good to know that Netflix launched Season 1 on February 15, and its available to all subscribers.
