The Undoing miniseries, starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, will premiere in May 2020

Emmy-nominated director Susanne Bier and Oscar and the Golden Globe, and David E. Kelley – Emmy-award winning creator for Big Innocent Lies – bring to HBO the six-part The Undoing / From the Beginning (based on the novel “You Should Have” Known ”(written by Jean Hanff Korelitz), which will premiere in May, exclusively on HBO and HBO GO.

The series is directed by Susanne Bier and created and written for television by David E. Kelley, who is also a lead writer, executive producers are Susanne Bier, David E. Kelley through David E. Kelley Productions, Nicole Kidman and Per Saari through Blossom Films, Bruna Papandrea through Made Up Stories, Stephen Garrett and Celia Costas.

The main character of the miniseries is Grace and Jonathan Fraser (Kidman and Hugh Grant) who are living the life they wanted. Overnight a gap opens in their lives: a violent death and a chain of horrific revelations. Left behind in the ruins of a disaster that is still spreading and in the public eye and horrified by all the ways he has failed to listen to his own advice, Grace has to create a new life for her child (Noah Jupe) and family too. Donald Sutherland (Emmy Award winner for Citizen X) stars as Franklin Reinhardt, Grace’s father, a retired finance specialist who must protect his family as tumultuous revelations begin to surface. Noah Jupe (Honey Boy and A Quiet Place 2) plays the role of Henry Fraser, the precocious, 12-year-old son of Jonathan and Grace.

In The Undoing / Edgar Ramirez (Emmy nominee for American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace and Carlos) also stars as Detective Joe Mendoza; Ismael Cruz Cordova (Berlin Station) as Fernando Alves; Matilda De Angelis as Elena Alves; Lily Rabe (American Horror Story) as Sylvia Steinetz; Noma Dumezweni (Black Earth Rising) as Haley Fitzgerald; Sofie Gråbøl (Gentleman Jack, Fortitude) as Catherine Stamper.
