Although an official launch date has not yet been announced, the Deadline website has found from sources close to production that The Witcher will be released by Netflix by the end of this year – in the last three months of 2019.
Created by Lauren Schmidt, the series is based on popular fantasy novels. Here’s the synopsis of production: “Geralt de Rivia, a mutant monster hunter, struggles to find its place in a world where people turn out to be worse than beasts. Fate leads him to a powerful witch and a young princess hiding a dangerous secret and together crosses the complex and surprising world known as the Continent.
The fans of Sapkowski’s books and popular video games inspired by them will find alongside other familiar characters in the series, Ciri (Freya Allan), Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Triss (Anna Shaffer).
