Tom Hanks is in talks to play the role to play Elvis Presley’s manager, the emblematic Colonel Tom Parker, in the movie directed by Baz Luhrmann, produced by Warner Bros. about the legendary musician.
Luhrmann will direct the movie. He will also write the script with Craig Pearce.Parker has discovered Presley and is responsible for various stages of the artist, including Presley’s understanding of the RCA record label and his successful career as an actor.
While Luhrmann thought of a star for Parker’s role, for Presley’s role he wanted a debutant. The director started the casting.
Sources say the budget is not yet completed, but Hanks’ commitment will cause the studio to speed up the project.Luhrmann hopes to start production this year.
