Disney’s box office dominance reaches new heights. Animation Toy Story 4 became the fifth movie released by the company this year that has crossed the billion-dollar threshold.
Disney thus becomes the first studio that can boast such a level of box office success, coming from five different productions in a year.
Toy Story 4 launched in June and has recently joined the billionaires club. The other four Disney productions in this top are – in order of revenue – Aladdin, with $ 1.035 billion, Captain Marvel, with 1.128 billion, The Lion King, with 1.346 billion, and Avengers: Endgame, with $ 2.795 billion.
The family production with the voices of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen was extremely well received by critics. It grossed $ 238 million only at the international debut and exceeded the figures of the launch of Incredibles 2 in 2018, of $ 235.8 million.
