Travis Fimmel (43), the star of “Vikings” and “Raised by Wolves”, stars in another highly anticipated production. The Australian actor was recently cast in Dune: The Sisterhood, currently working on the pilot episode, which has already begun filming, alongside Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson.
The famous performer of Ragnar Lothbrok from the series “Vikings” and Marcus from “Raised by Wolves” stars, along with Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson, in the pilot episode of the series “Dune: The Sisterhood”, which is currently in the works.
Dune: The Sisterhood, inspired by Frank Herbert’s classic novel Dune, is set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides’ story and follows the Harkonnen sisters (played by Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson). They fight forces that threaten the future of humanity and establish the legendary group known as the “Bene Gesserit”.
Travis Fimmel stars as Desmond Hart, a charismatic soldier with a mysterious past who struggles to win the Emperor’s trust at the expense of the Bene Gesserit sisters. Along with Emily Watson, Shirley Henderson, and Travis Fimmel, the cast also includes Indira Varma, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Faoileann Cunningham, Aoife Hinds, and Chloe Lea.
Dune: The Sisterhood is created by screenwriter Diane Ademu-John and executive producer Alison Schapker, and the first two episodes are directed by executive producer Johan Renck. Denis Villeneuve, who directed, co-wrote, and produced ‘Dune / ‘Dune: Part One (2021) and is currently filming ‘Dune: Part Two’ (due in 2023), is also producing executive of the series, together with the rights holders of the work of Frank Herbert. “Dune” (released in October 2021) was rewarded this year with six Oscars and a Golden Globe and grossed more than $400 million globally.
“Dune: The Sisterhood” is co-produced by HBO Max and Legendary Television, the TV arm of Legendary Studios, which is behind the “Dune” franchise.
