What George R.R. Martin said about the Game of Thrones spin-off

Game of Thrones is coming to an end, but fans have received for some time assuring the creators that they will stay in the same universe through other series to be developed. CNN.com has taken a recent statement from George R.R’s personal blog. Martin, and according to him three spin-offs would be accomplished. Only the author does not agree with the term “spin-off” and prefers to call them “serial successors”.

“We had five offspring of Game of Thrones (I do not like the spin-off term) at HBO, and three of them go on smoothly. The production that should not be called The Long Night will start filming later this year and two more remain at the scenario level, but they are nearing completion, “said the author, but he did not get into the details related to what we could see in this “serial-follower” that will be filmed in autumn-winter.

“Maybe some of you should get a handful of Fire & Blood to come up with their own theories,” the author said.

Two years ago, however, Casey Bloys, the program manager at HBO, drew the attention that not all of the announced series, inspired by the Game of Thrones, would come to fruition: “Things are not so. […] The bar was raised so high [by Benioff and Weiss, n. Red.] That all I can hope for is to get at least one serial to successfully pass on the traces of GoT “.
